Passengers on domestic flights will pay an airport-use fee of up to US$9 instead of 5,685 pesos (about US$3.70 at the central bank's official rate) from December 8, under a resolution published Friday in the Official Gazette.
Resolution 69/2026 of ORSNA, the national airports regulator, approves a new tariff table for the 35 airports run by Aeropuertos Argentina, including Aeroparque, Ezeiza and Córdoba. The fee, known as the TUA (Tasa de Uso de Aeroestación), is charged per boarding passenger and is normally built into the ticket price. The new values become enforceable 60 days after publication, on December 8.
The regulator says pricing the fee in dollars preserves the value of the concession's revenue and avoids repeated peso adjustments. The peso amount will now move with the exchange rate. The change is part of the contract renegotiation approved on September 28, which extended the concession to 2049.
Sector sources told La Nación the increase will be passed on to passengers through higher domestic fares. At today's exchange rate, the fee adds about US$5 per boarding, or more than US$10 on a round trip.
Other fees in the table move the other way. The international fee stays at US$57 at the main airports. The fee for regional flights of up to 1,000 kilometers falls 56%, from US$57 to US$25.16, a cut that governors, mayors, the tourism sector and airlines had requested. Airlines' international landing and parking charges now include a 30% discount that previously depended on an agreement with the airline association IATA and on carriers being up to date with payments.
